A few months ago I was making some cookies and when I went to rach for the baking powder, the container was empty! I was like, NOOOOOO! So, I put on my thinking cap and did a search “Can you make your own baking powder?” Low and behold a million results came up as a loud resounding YES!! And it’s super easy too!
I had no idea was baking powder consisted of. Only 3 simple ingredients. The word on the street says that homemade baking powder doesn’t have the metallic taste store bought does. I can attest to that!

WHAT IS HOMEMADE BAKING POWDER?
Making your own baking powder will safe you a few pennies as well as being more healthy. To create baking powder, you will need sodium bicarbonate, an acid and stabilizer. The baking soda is the bicarbonate, the cream of tartar is the acid and the corn starch is the stabilizer. The corn starch prevents moisture form building.
